KANSAS CITY - Media are invited to view the historic Amtrak "Great Dome" rail car at the Kansas City Union Station between trips on the Missouri River Runner trains from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.,  Friday, April 6.

The Great Dome will operate on certain Missouri River Runner trips through April 12.  The dome car provides a unique opportunity to experience river and prairie views along the train's St. Louis to Kansas City, Mo., route.
 The only remaining dome car in Amtrak service features an upper level with windows on all sides - as well as overhead - to provide panoramic views of springtime in Missouri. The dome section runs the full length of the car, a rare feature even when dome cars were more numerous on the nation's railroads.
Amtrak staff will be available to provide access to the dome car and for interview.  Please call to confirm and make arrangements.
